Two down...many more to go!

Day two ended successfully.

I think my main challenge with this position will be to re-invigorate my team and boost their morale.

I've told many folks that in the past, I've done well with large organizations and the IRS is a big piece of an even larger group...relationship building will be a prime skill to employ here.

Much to learn, much to do but I'm looking forward to it.

The basic thing right now is clearning out the JUNK from my office.  It was a dumping ground for 6 months and so I need to clear the place out first up!

I'm going to miss it!

Getting to the end of my last week of "freedom"!

What's been great about the last couple of weeks is that I've not had to do the job search.  To collect unemployment, one needs to make 3 job contacts a week...When you have to fill out lengthy questionnaires each time, that gets tedious.

I called the unemployment folks a couple weeks ago and asked about it, and they flagged me as being exempt from that requirement!

So, I spent the time helping out at the schools and feeding my Facebook addiction...:).

All in all, I've enjoyed being home when the boys get home to help with homework or just find out how their day went.  I also enjoyed getting everyone kicked out of the house in the morning.  Spencer still gives the nice hug each morning as the bus arrives and I've enjoyed the brief chats with the driver.

I suspect the job will be a challenge at first, but I think it will be a good one.  My "concern" is how quickly I'll be able to figure out my work schedule to weave in some running.

Finally!!!

So, I first had to get fingerprinted, then a tax check done.

Next step was to fill out paperwork for a background check...

All the hoops successfully jumped through and the formal offer letter is in hand.  Start date May 26th.

I'm SO looking forward to getting back into the work swing of things.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at home with the boys each day; getting everyone out the door each morning, keeping things picked up around the house; making dinner (when I knew what to cook).

Hopefully I can settle into a new routine quickly -- mainly to not miss too much in the way of working out!
